The hardback book, conceived and illustrated by Legrand, features a series of comic vignettes inspired by Longchamp’s collections of bags, shoes and clothes. Throughout the book, a fan of the French House finds herself in funny, embarrassing and flirtatious situations, sometimes accompanied by her feisty grandmother, independent-spirited daughter, her long-suffering husband and friends.
Legrand has previously published a similarly comedic graphic novel, Un été au Cap-Ferret (A Summer in Cap Ferret) and created animated characters for television. This latest publication marks a new departure for Longchamp, which has previously published books of its own history.
Jean Cassegrain, CEO, says, “It is a pleasure to work with Ms. Legrand on this witty and light-hearted project. Longchamp is known across the world for its French heritage, craftsmanship and its collections that are created for women who enjoy life and the color that Longchamp brings with its positive spirit.”
Fabienne Legrand also expresses her excitement at working with Longchamp, “As a French woman I know and love the Longchamp brand, so it is particularly interesting for me to work on this project. Supporting the creation of an amusing book that takes a wry look at life shows a side of Longchamp that is close to the mood of women today and their sense of humor.”
‘Two loves have I, my handbag and Paris” ‘will be available in Longchamp stores and bookshops in France, Longchamp website, and in the Longchamp boutique network in Europe and USA from October 24th.
